Beyond Terrified.

This is going to be long...

So Saturday started off as normal as could be. Ryan and I ran a few errands in the morning then I was on my way to my mom's house to pick her up to go pick up Ryan's Christmas gift. I got there and ran inside quick because I had to go to the bathroom. That is when I became more terrified than I ever have been in my entire life. I saw red blood, nothing but red blood. I immediatly ran out of the bathroom screaming for my mom telling her I am bleeding red blood. The tears came quicker than I could get the words out, she started crying as well. We called the dr's office who apparently like to put pregnant, bleeding woman on hold for 20 minutes- so we called the ER on a different phone. The nurse finally picked up the phone and she said she would have a baby nurse call me back, meanwhile, my mom was talking to the ER and they told her to bring me in right away.

We got into the car and frantically drove back to my house to get Ryan (who wasn't answering his phone) where we found him shoveling the driveway. He greeted us with a huge smile that quickly changed as through the tears I told him I was bleeding and we have to go to the ER. He quickly put the shovel away and grabbed his things.

Once we got to the ER and checked in they called me back (Ryan came with) and had me change into my gown. The Dr was so very nice and he tried to assure me that most likely nothing was wrong with our baby and bleeding can be very normal in the 1st trimester. They took my temp and blood pressure- I was fine but as soon as they asked us what number pregnancy this was I just lost it and began sobbing. I couldn't help it. The Dr did an exam and said my cervix was still closed and I still have my mucus plug- which were 2 very very important things to be this way.

Next was the u/s...the Dr did say that even if we don't see the heart beat, it doesn't mean something is wrong since it is still early to be able to see the heart beat. I was rolled down on the hospital bed- which was totally weird. The checked my ovaries and all that boring stuff and then they got to the baby! And there Renny was with a beautiful heart beat...today measuring 167! I was beyond relieved and so happy we got to see him/her again.

We got back to the room and waited for the Dr to come back and give us the reason for the bleeding but before he did there was a knock at the door and it was my dad- who apparently had cut off all of his hair! I had no idea he was even at the hospital and he told me that my sister and her boyfriend were in the waiting room as well. It was so nice to know that they were there and that they were just as scared as we were.

So then the Dr came it with the biggest smile on his face and said, "Well did you hear the good news?" I said, "no." He then began to tell us that I had a very small subchorionic hemmorage and that is what was causing the bleeding. He told me this happens more times than not in pregnancy and most women don't even know that they had one. It should heal on it's own and shouldn't cause any further problems with the pregnancy. Best.words.ever.

Today I am resting easy knowing for now we are still going to be parents very soon and I have had no bleeding since the bathroom incident at my mom's house yesterday.

Here is a picture of our little one...the circle is not the baby's head (although we pretend it is :)), it is the yolk sac.
