Little Slice of Heaven

Henry has been going through a bit of separation anxiety lately...mainly if whoever is watching him leaves out of his sight. This has been especially challenging at night where he used to put himself to sleep in his crib and would stay asleep 12ish hours. Well lately if he wakes up at all at night he screams because he realizes no one is in his room. If me or Ryan walk in to comfort him, he instantly stops crying but the second we turn around to leave the screaming continues.

Last night I put him in his crib, told him I loved him and walked out of the room. I decided to take a bath and by the time I finished my bath [maybe 20 minutes later] he was still screaming. I walked into his room, picked him up and sat with him in the glider in the corner of the room- this was something we haven't done in months! Henry instantly put his head on my chest and just stared at me. We rocked and rocked while I sang and played with his hair. Of course by the end I had just started sobbing [darn pregnancy hormones!] as his ever so long body was halfway draped down my side. While he isn't my tiny baby anymore, he still is my little slice of heaven.


Oh yes & I will add, he didn't wake up in the middle of the night last night screaming. I will go ahead and give our snuggle session the credit for that :)
