When I decided to get Ryan a Dyson for Father's Day, I knew Henry would be over the moon excited. He is completely obsessed with vacuums. Like we bribe him with trips to Target just to look at the vacuum aisle. & he can go up and down & pick out our [old] vacuum while screaming "daddy vacuum, daddy vacuum" as soon as he sees ours. It's actually pretty funny because he calls it 'daddy's vacuum' because obviously I don't vacuum. & if you ask him if mommy has a vacuum he will tell you no :)
Anyways, on the Thursday before Father's Day we headed to Kohls to pick up the holy vacuum that is a Dyson. My mom & sister came along- so I could use my mom's 30% off :) Henry was just beside himself. Thankfully for me, by the time we got home it was bedtime so I was able to sneak the vacuum in an upstairs closet...hidden from wee Henry & Ryan [who was out of town for work all week].
Fast forward to Saturday- Ryan is out of town for boy's weekend with his friends and calls to talk to Henry. I put the phone on speakerphone so Holden could hear Ryan's voice too. Keep in mind it has been 2 full days since we have talked about the vacuum & Henry hasn't seen it since Thursday.
Here is the conversation:
Ryan: Hi Henry, how are you buddy?
Henry: Daddy new vacuum.
Ryan: What?
Henry: New vacuum. Daddy new vacuum.
Ryan: Who got a new vacuum?
Henry: Mama got new vacuum. Daddy new vacuum.
Ryan: Ah ok.
The moral of this story: Henry can't keep a secret.
