Telling The Parents

So we decided to tell our parents our big news this weekend. I went to Target and printed a few of our wedding pictures (since we still hadn't printed any off) and a picture of the digital pregnancy test that said "pregnant" and stuck that in the middle of the stack of wedding pictures.

On Saturday we told Ryan's parents (this will be their 3rd grandchild) we had some pictures to drop off on our way to dinner with friends. So we got there and Ryan handed the pictures to his mom and asked if she wanted any of the pictures we had printed off. She looked through them as she was sitting on the couch and as soon as she got to the test picture her eyes got huge and she said "oh my gosh!" She began to cry and quickly shuffled through the rest of the pictures and handed them to Ryan's dad. He took forever to get to the test picture and when he did he said "Pregnant? Who's pregnant?" Ryan's mom quickly jumped up to give us our hugs and then Ryan's dad quickly caught on and congratulated us as well.

The next day (Sunday) was the day to tell my parents (this will be their first grandchild). We were planning on going to their house later in the afternoon to suprise them but my dad came over to help us put up our new chandelier and my mom and Hannah came over with him so we thought it would be the perfect time. I handed my mom the pictures and as soon as she gets to the pregnancy test picture she said "No, I don't want this picture" then she looked at the picture again and goes, "Wait! Are you pregnant?!?" I told her yes and my dad ran over to me crying giving us both hugs...my mom did the same. Hannah has fully admitted she is going to be broke from buying "cute baby stuff." Laura came over a little while later and I handed her the pictures...she just stood there is shock asking if it was a joke. She is excited!

We went over to my parent's for the Vikings game later on in the evening and my dad wouldn't let me do anything because he wanted me to relax since I am expecting (his words). It was nice and very cute to see him so excited!

It went just as I had imagined :)
