Q & A Part 1

I just want to say thanks to everyone who posted questions...I really was expecting to delete the post with a bit of embarassment.

I will be answering these in 2 different posts as it can be a bit much to read over 30 questions :)

So here we go...

I'll play! No one played on mine and it made me sad...What is the one thing you've learned as a parent that has been the most surprising?
Ummm this is a tough one...I would say for me the most surprising thing is that I really don't mind changing diapers. I have heard from so many people that they can't wait until their kids are out of diapers but maybe it's because I am only 6 months- I don't mind it at all. Well except the poopy ones, I give those to Ryan :)
Where did you come up with the name, Henry? What about your baby that's cooking?
I have always loved the name Henry and when I met Ryan he loved baseball & Hank Aaron so it felt right to name our little baseball buddy after Hank Aaron. Henry's middle name is Ryan, which is of course his dad's name :)
We have had our girl name, Lucille Lorraine picked out for a long time now. We just like the name Lucy and Lorraine is my grandma's name. We had a harder time trying to find a boy name we both agreed on. We wanted something different and not very common. I came across Holden looking at a baby name website- emailed it to Ryan and we both fell in love. We will use Jon as a middle name, which is my dad's name.

It may be personal, but I know Renny is a surprise... were you doing anything to prevent that failed or were you kinda just taking a risk?

Renny was somewhat of a suprise...I will say that we weren't using any sort of protection so we knew it was a possibilty but the lack of frequency of events led me to believe it could not happen...boy was I wrong!

Also, you said you already have names picked, what is the explanation behind them? Are they family names or just were runner up names for Henry that you still love? See question above :)

Are you a Stay at home momma or do you work outside the home? If so, what do you do?

I work full time outside of the home. I have a teaching degree but unfortunatly I don't teach. I actually work at a state college in the financial aid office.

Annnnd, are you nervous that Henry & Renny will be so close in age? (For your's & your hubby's sake?)Congrats on Renny #2 by the way :)

Ryan and I talk about this a lot. Some days we are nervous and others we will be just fine. I think for us it will be good that we are still in "baby mode" with Henry when the new baby comes so it won't be a huge shock all over again when we aren't getting any sleep, still changing diapers, etc. It will be hard but I think we will be just fine :)

Ooooh, I will play! How did you come up with the names for the new baby?
See first question :)

Do you and your husband have plans for Valentine's Day?

We didn't have any plans but we did spend the day with family. I am still working on uploading all our Valentine's pictures for a separate post.

I've found your blog through MrsF's blog and I have a 6 month old baby boy too. I can't quite imagine having another so soon. Do you have morning sickness and if so is that hard to deal with while also caring for an infant?

I have had morning sickness & as of this morning apparently it isn't gone yet. I will say that overall I feel better than I did when I was pregnant with Henry but I have lost my cookies more often during this pregnancy. There are days where I struggle with taking care of Henry but luckily Ryan is pretty much awesome and is a huge help when I am not feeling well.

I love this game! What do you do for a living?

I work in financial aid at a state college.

How many children do you want?

Ideally we would like to stop at 2 but who knows if we will get bitten by the baby rabies again and try for another. Ryan says this will be our last "planned" baby...so I guess his mind is open to the possibility of more too :)

These are fun! How did your family react when you told them about baby number 2?

To be honest I was scared to death to tell our families. I knew they would think we are crazy but we bit the bullet a few weeks ago and told them. And they were shocked to say the least. But now I don't think anyone really thinks about the new baby because whenever they are around it is all about Henry, which I think is a good thing.

Hello!... Im a lurker with a 12 week old... How is being pregnant with a little one? We wants kids close in age as well but i get tired just thinking how exhausted I am now and then adding on the pregnacy exhaustion!

It's hard but we make it work. We recently started putting Henry to bed a bit earlier (usually by 7:30) and I am literally in bed sleeping as soon as he is out. Ryan is usually right there with me.

Are you hoping Henry has a brother or sister!?

I am hoping Henry has a brother. I want nothing more than for him to have a little brother to play baseball with and all that fun brother stuff. If it were a girl I wouldn't be sad and I am sure Henry will be just as close with her but I really want another boy :)

I've been reading your blog for awhile now and I love seeing pictures of Henry!Does Ryan know about the blog?

He does know about it but he has yet to post. I did give him author rights so maybe one day he will shock all of us and post something!

Does he read it?

He does. I don't think he does on a regular basis but once in awhile he will mention something he saw on the blog.
