Last night we put Henry to bed at his usual time [7:15] but by about 10 he was a bit fussy. We usually leave him be to see if he will fall asleep on his own but last night I couldn't just leave him in there.
I tiptoed into his room where he was still whining in his sleeping, I picked him up and just snuggled him. I made a little Henry bed on the floor and we curled up into a little ball of mommy & baby. He stopped whining almost instantly and I just stared at his face with his mouth wide open, snoring away [let's hope his stuffy nose goes away soon]. As he was finally asleep, he peeped his eyes open- looked at me and got the biggest smile on face.
I soon decided to run downstairs to grab a blanket so I could settle in for the night. By the time I got back Henry had flipped himself over onto his tummy with his little legs tucked under him. I figured he should probably finish the night out in his crib but I decided to stay curled up on his floor. I did fall asleep to his lullaby CD & ceiling fan but his snoring woke me up so I decided to head back to our room.
& although it was somewhat short lived...in those moments on Henry's nursery floor, I have been my happiest.

SO sweet. I love quiet moments
so precious.
What a sweet moment! There is no better place in the world!
I just teared up.
It's easy to forget how short a time they're little and just want their mommy.
Thanks for the reminder.
