My 9 month old could very well be the new king of temper tantrums.
& they seem to be getting worse. Henry will scream and throw his entire body onto the floor if we move him from one spot to another, take something away from him, try to get him dressed or change his diaper.
We are good at not giving into the trantrum because he can't bang on the fireplace or play with the Wii cords, he can't eat the remote or drag Agnes across the room by her collar. & I know he doesn't want to sit still long enough to get dressed or have his diaper changed but something really needs to change before I lose my freaking mind.
After we move him/take an object away we calmly tell him why we are doing it [you will get an owie because the fireplace is hot] so he at least hears the reasoning over and over so when he can process it, it will make sense. I usually try to snuggle him while he is screaming, although he doesn't really seem to care too much for that part of it :)
But what else can we do before I buy a one way plane ticket to a deserted island filled with nachos and fruity drinks???

Can I come with you to that island?? My daughter does the EXACT. SAME. THING. Must be the age. I think what you are doing is best and not to give into him or he will continue to do it. I think that's all we can do with how young they are!!! But if you find out anything let me know!!!
Its definitely the age, because Liv is also 9 months and is the same way. More so when she's being dressed, having her diaper changed, or if we take something away from her. I think the key is to do exactly what you're doing...which is being consistent and not giving in. They'll learn...right? They have to :). haha, thats what I tell myself anyways.
Nachos and fruity drinks? I'm coming!! I foresee Lincoln doing this in the future. He already has quite the little temper!
No tips bc Mace does the same thing and yup, he just turned 9 months. Its the back-arching that really gets to me .... uuuuuughhhh ..... I HATE the back-arching.
Oh yes! The arching...drives me crazy! I actually have a fat lip today because of the arching!
Take me with you to this island. Isabella cried for 10 minutes yesterday when I wouldn't let her rip off my glasses. Apparently she didn't care for my reasoning that "Mommy can't see two inches in front of her without them."
oh man. so sorry to hear it mama. now that elliot is crawling, we have just started to say "no" to him. it's so hard to know what they understand at this age, in terms of being told what not to do. i'm keeping all my fingers/toes crossed for you!
I'm not looking forward to this!! By the way, stop by my blog to enter in a baby/kid related giveaway! :)
My Henry started doing the.same.thing recently. It must be the aget... I drives us nuts too! I sure hope it's just a phase and that he grows out of it otherwise I'll be right with you on that magical island :-)
