A Baby Name Change?

Henry has always been Henry & Holden has always been Holden. We never waivered or doubted either of their names.

& until last night...Harper was always going to be Harper.

My Grammie [well everyone, really] has been suggesting different 'H' girl names since we found out that we were having a wee baby girl. & yes they all know we already have her name picked out. Most of them I quickly turn down and laugh off. Until last night...

My Grammie sent us an anniversary card and she wrote a small note that said..."What about the name Hazel for an 'H' girl name? It was your Great-Grandma Hoff's name."

Ryan wasn't home quite yet but I was already in love with the name and the fact that both her first and middle name would have family meaning really sealed the deal with me. As soon as he got home I told him about my Grammie's note and to my surprise he loves the name too! He actually said I could chose either name because he loves both of them.

Thankfully we have some time to mull it over and we can always go to the hospital & chose once we see her but as of now I am really thinking our wee baby girl is going to be Hazel Lorraine. Eeeeee! :)

OOOO I LOVE IT!

I LOVE the name Harper but it's becoming so popular now (I dont know if that matters to you or not) but Hazel is beautiful and you hardly ever hear the name.

That's just my opinion!! :)

I love the name Hazel I think it's absolutely beautiful. I like Harper but it's not as elegant in my mind. Oh, how I wish my Husband liked it too :)

I vote for Hazel! I actually had a dream not too long ago that a friend of mine had a girl and named her Hazel. Turns out that friend is having a boy, lol, but I still love the name! I have a thing for names with meaning/family names and I think Harper is going to become very popular. Hazel, Hazel, Hazel!!!!

I love love LOVE the name Hazel. When I was pregnant with my LO I contemplated the name Harper as well, so I do like that one also. I am really big into family names & giving children names that have a really strong meaning to us. You guys will figure it out and like you said, you have some time, but Hazel is an adorable name.

I love the new name Hazel. It's a family name in my family as well. I was a little crushed to hear that Victoria Beckham named her daughter Harper knowing you guys had planned on Harper.
