Holden's Birthday Quilt

I decided long after Henry's 1st birthday that I wanted to make each of our children a quilt to commemorate their very first birthday- with fabric that matched the theme of their party.

This past spring I found a super awesome Etsy store that sells rag quilt kits- all of the squares are already cut. I ordered a kit for Henry's Very Hungry Caterpillar birthday [which I still have to make] and one for Holden's Dr. Seuss birthday.

That brings me to this morning. Holden's birthday less than a week away and his party this weekend. I still hadn't touched his quilt. Thankfully I had a late start work day, Ryan took the boys to daycare and I got to sewing. It only took 2 hours from start to finish & that's only because my hand kept cramping while I was cutting the slits for the 'rag' part.

I love how it turned out & I can't wait to get started on Henry's...only a year late :)

I am also doing that theme for my son's 1st birthday. Wish I knew what I was doing when it comes to this kind of stuff!
